Students studying to be teachers at the Mary Frances Early College of Education incur costs beyond tuition and living expenses. There are also the required testing exam fees, classroom supplies, professional clothing, association memberships…the list goes on.

The Abigail Reddic Student Teaching Emergency fund was created to provide a safety net for when unexpected circumstances in life arise and paying for the necessary expenses above become a huge burden. Should a student be faced with the difficult decision of using their limited finances to pay for an emergency versus staying on their career path, assistance from this fund could make all the difference. The fund can provide limited, one-time financial assistance, up to $2,000, to enrolled undergraduate students in a College of Education educator preparation program in their student teaching semester who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses because of temporary hardship related to an emergency. Hardships include, but are not limited to, a national pandemic, unexpected housing expenses, car repairs, medical bills, death of a family member, natural disaster, or other unforeseen circumstances.

With your contribution, we can aim to serve more student teachers in their most critical time of need.

This fund was established in honor of Abigail Carter Reddic (BSED 2019) by her parents and serves to honor Abigail's commitment to Education and love for the University of Georgia.
